Dev.D is a 2009 Indian romantic drama film released on February 6, 2009.[1] Written and directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film is a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic Bengali novel Devdas.[2][3], previously adapted for the screen by such revered filmmakers as P.C. Barua and Bimal Roy and more recently by Sanjay Leela Bhansali[4]. Dev.D was embraced by the media, critics and public alike, and is considered to be amongst path breaking films in Hindi for the way it presented itself.

Dil To Pagal Hai (Hindi: दिल तो पागल है, Urdu: دل تو پاگل ہے, translation: The Heart Is Crazy) is a Bollywood comedy/drama, released October 31, 1997, depicting the love-lives of dancers in a musical dance troupe. It was directed by Yash Chopra. It stars Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor, with a guest appearance by Akshay Kumar. The film was first titled "Maine To Mohabbat Ki Hai." "Film Mard - Amitabh Bachchan"
The film opens in India. It is the early 20th century, when India remains part of the British empire. The opening sequence shows a group of British soldiers plundering an Indian fort and taking its riches by air to England. They are stopped by the valiant Raja Azad Singh (Dara Singh). Raja Azad Singh is of immense strength, and manages to lasso the light aircraft, subdue several English soldiers and recover the stolen jewels.
Around this time, Raja Azad Singh's wife Rani Durga (Nirupa Roy) gives birth to a baby boy. The Raja carves the word mard (man, intending to convey strength and bravery) into the newborn's chest, noting proudly that the baby is smiling throughout, and can apparently feel no pain. (His words, mard ko dard nahin hota, meaning a true man feels no pain, is a tag line throughout the movie.) The British commission conducts an investigation, led by sympathetic and liberal Englishwoman, Lady Helena; the investigation uncovers the atrocities of the English troops and results inseveral officers being officially reprimanded. Lady Helena is a close confidant of Raja Azad Singh, and is generally supportive of the Raja and of India becoming independent.

The film became famous even before its release when Amitabh Bachchan was critically injured in the intestines while filming a fight scene with co-star Puneet Issar which almost cost him his life. His accident received wide world coverage and hit the headlines in the UK, something unheard of at the time, and many Indians prayed in temples or offered to sacrifice their own limbs to save him. Nevertheless he spent many months recovering and resumed filming later that year after a long period of recuperation.
Bachchan resumed shooting and remarkably in the final cut of the film, the fight scene during which he is injured is frozen and a message appears marking this as the scene in which he was injured. Due to Bachchan's injury, the ending was changed. In the original, Amitabh died after Kader Khan shot him. But later on, after the injury-and-recovery episode, Manmohan Desai, thinking that this would have a negative impact on the movie as well as a bad feeling in the audience, decided to change the ending. The modified ending has the hero recover after his operation.
