هناك 4 مسميات تطلق على الصور الماخوذة عن طريق الباريوم :

1.Barium Swallow : و هي التي تستخدم لرؤية المريء .

2.Barium Meal : التي تستخدم لرؤية المعدة و بداية الاثنى عشر.

3.Barium Full throw : تستخدم للرؤية لحد الامعاء الغليظة.

4. Barium Enema :و هي الحقنة الشرجية لرؤية المستقيم و الامعاء الغليظة.

Pleural effusion


Definition: Fluid accumulates in pleural space.
You are looking at pleural effusion on right, in the Chest x-ray.
Irrespective of the nature of fluid, radiologically they will look similar.
Radiological criteria are:

Homogenous density
Density in dependent portion
Upright: Costophrenic angle in PA view
Lateral view: Anterior and posterior portions of gutter
Lateral decubitus position: Along sides
Supine position: Along posteriorly, giving diffuse haziness on the side of effusion

Radiological criteria for calling a shadow in CXR as consolidation are:

Lobar or Segmental Density
The density should either correspond to lobe or segment of Lung.
Air Bronchogram
Presence of air bronchogram would confirm that it is an alveolar process.
No Loss of Lung Volume
In early stages of consolidation the volume of lung increases. In later stages there can be some amount of loss of lung volume due to secretions obstructing airways. As a general rule there is no significant loss of lung volume in consolidation

Explanation:
Pott’s disease, or tuberculous spondylitis, is named after Percivall Pott. Discitis caused by the tuberculosis organism, Mycobacterium tuberculosis progresses to involve the vertebral bodies, and eventually extends beyond the spine. The radiological findings in this case are
- loss of disc height
