This database will be a typical address book that will contain your friends ,family, and business contact information. Also included in this database will be gifts that you have given over the years. You must create two tables for this assignment, called People and Gifts.
People will have one entry per person with basic information, and Gifts will have an entry for each single gift you have given.
Field Name Field Type
Entry Number Autonumber
First Name Text
Last Name Text
State Text
Zip Text
DOB Date
Field Name Field Type
Entry Number Long Integer
Gift Text
When Given Date
Why Given Text
Cost Currency
The first table and the second table share some information. The key field(s) is responsible for making the link between the two tables. The chosen field(s) must uniquely identify a record in the people. The “ Why Given” field should only contain bday, xmas , or other. You should build your database so that the user cannot make an error entering the “ Why Given”.
To Do
• Define fields , field lengths , etc. for the people table.
• Create a primary key for the people table.
• Set the field properties so that State is always capitalized
• Define fields , field , lengths, etc. for the Gifts table
• Link the two tables (set referential integrity, one- to many, and cascading deletes). Referential integrity ensures that entries in the Gifts table must have an entry number corresponding to an entry in the people table. One – to – many allows you to have more than one entry in the second table with the same entry number. Cascading deletes instructs access to delete all entries in the second table that correspond to an entry that was deleted in the first table. This helps keep the database consistent.
• Put your name and info in the first record of the database
• Add real or fake data to the rest of the database (minimum 10 entries)
• Each person in the database should have at least one gift, and more than 5 people should have two or more gifts, that means you’ll have at least 15 entries in the Gifts table.
• You must use addresses that are in at least three different states . some of your addresses must be in GA (at lest 3) and some in FL (at lest 3); that will make the next assignment easier. The data may be real or fake.
• Some, but not all, of the people must be between 15 and 30 years old (at lest 3).
To Do Queries
Note : if you must change your table design in order to do the Queries , you should note that on your grade sheet. You might want to add records to your database so that you can test whether these Queries work. Be sure to test they do.
every one: Query the first name, last name, and state of each person in your database stored by last name in ascending order.
youngsters: Query the first name, last name, and age of people between the ages of 15 and 30.
Georgians: Query the first name, last name ,state , and zip code of people that live in the state of GA.
Georgians adults: Query the first name, last name ,state , and birthday of people who live in GA and are at least 15 years old.
generosity: Query the total cost of all the gifts you have given.
beneficiaries: Query the first name, last name , and the number of gifts given of people you have given gifts to.
birthday gifts: Query the first name, last name ,gifts , and when given for only the people you gave birthday gifts to last year.
next bdays: Query the first name, last name , and DOB for people that were born in the month of December. (Hint, you may need wild-cards here.)
non-locals: Query the first name, last name , and state of those people that do not live in GA or in FL.
generosity detail: Query the first name, last name , and number of birthday and Christmas gifts you have given to each person.(that’s two numbers for each person, the total number of gifts given for each of those occasions.)
ان شاء الله تعرفون له
منتظرتكم
