You have been appointed in the position of IS manager in the Hashemite University. You responsibilities include initiating and managing new software development projects and maintaining existing information systems. Your first observation is that software development projects are managed in an ad hoc manner. Existing systems are not properly ********ed. After studying the current situation of the IS department, you decided to introduce radical change to the way things are done. Your decision is to adopt a standard methodology (based on a process model) for software development and maintenance. You want to gain top management support for this new policy.
Write a report to your manager explaining your policy, the rationale for it, the benefits to the University of introducing this policy, the costs incurred in introducing this policy. If there are different courses of action to achieve your goal, present the alternatives and justify your selection.
Remember that the report is written to your manager who is not a computer expert!
