Four songs of Figuig:
We want to present in this exposé 4 songs which were recorded among two women of Figuig, an oasis Berber phone at the edge of the large desert, on the border between Algeria and Morocco. The women are originating in Ksar Zénéga. Figuig is a place without important poetic tradition. There are only few songs, of which a number is in Arab language. For this reason it seems to us interesting to speak about these 4 songs such as they were sung.
1-Asehrurey:
The first song is a lullaby (Asehrurey). Its language differs with several authorities from the current language figuiguienne. These deviations will be noted in the form of notes:
● like-Ci is melancholic person my heart, the melancholy of a lion which went in the desert, without finding his brothers.
● like-Ci is melancholic person my heart, the melancholy of an ear when it has a hair, the farmer cuts it to him.

Our second song which is often sung in the festivals which are exclusively for the women, the urar:
● The beautiful one is here, which will rent it. the beautiful one is here, Mohamed

● The beautiful is distracted, we will have patience for you.
● Cartier of in bottom, keeps O compassionnant, the reading Coran from the morning to the paddle
● Cartier of inside, it is always agitated, the incense assembles it is where there is much of it.
● Cupola of assistance, Holy Dris the patron
● She showed you over there our gifts, it left, it makes insane, it left me out of my direction

The third song, rather enigmatic in its contents, is sung to keep the field against the birds.

● Shiver of the night, insane ox,
● In the house of At Jeppur we plowed for rabbit
● Date of the plate of the balance
● Bird of pére Nekki O Yamun
● Not! Not! Not!

Line 6 Yamun is a kind of birds.
4 - The song of Mamma Izza:
This song seems to refer to a historical event. Unfortunately, nobody could tell us to which event.
Mamma Izza, gives us the Aziza ●
● To bring it to dad, dad is not here,
● He is in the countries, the countries are far,
● The son of At Snun meet the enemies,
● They threw him in the well, the well is deep,
It is filled with mud 'O black of the moon, ●
● We will make tinkle the tambourines so that our brother hears,

AZIZA is the best quality of date in Figuig.
