Gameloft's first foray into mobile golf was a major success, so the French game maker returns to the links in the 2007 edition of Pro Golf. Set on the island of Mauritius, Pro Golf 2007 unrolls the green carpet of three 18-hole courses, full of water hazards, sand traps, and enough rough to turn the inside of any subway car blue with your cursing streak.
The star of Gameloft's game, professional Vijay Singh, lends more than his name and likeness to the game -- he provides coaching and tips as you play, as well as a lesson package to give you the basics. After getting acquainted with the clubs, players can either just stroll out on the course for a quick game or enter a career mode where you claw your way up the money tree to enter the championship. Your winnings can be banked and later spent of the pro shop on new gear.
As soon as a playable build of Pro Golf 2007 crosses the desk, I'll lay out a full preview with my take on the game's revised graphics engine and the control scheme, which Gameloft praises as "ultra-intuitive." In the meantime, peep these screens, fresh from Gameloft's clubhouse.
