Local Toronto resident, Slasher, has performed a courtesy deed for all the unfortunate TA-082 motherboard owners that are unable to downgrade and enjoy the benefits of FW 1.50.
The 2.60 Gameboot Flasher allows you to customize your 2.50/2.60 PSP with your very own gameboot video! Simply plug in your AC adaptor, place your custom ‘gameboot.pmf’ file in the root of your memory stick, i.e.) F:\ (if your PSP is mounted as drive letter F:), and run the program - it’ll flash directly to flash0:/vsh/resources. That’s it, you’re done!
Here’s a little note from Slasher:
I’ve added some security checks as well, such as if you actually placed the file in the right location, if your AC adapter is plugged in, and if everything is going well up until the actual flashing process itself. If there’s an error and the various security checks pick it up, it will immediately return you to eloader; but if everything goes well, and the flash is successful, it will automatically restart your psp.
On occasion, the restart process causes a ‘disc cannot be read error’, similar to what the downgrader does. Either restart your psp(this sometimes works), or take out your battery for 5 mins then put it back in(this will always work).
Keep in mind - this writes directly to your PSP’s flash memory leaving the slight possibility of rendering your PSP a brick, with that said, this program is a use at your own risk! And as a precaution you should ensure your custom ‘gameboot.pmf’ does not exceed 1MB in size.
2.6 Gameboot Flash has been tested numerous times with positive results, so you don’t have that much to worry about.
Download: 2.5 & 2.6 Gameboot Flasher
Thanks for the email Slasher.
